The Do's and Don'ts of Pinterest Wedding Planning

So you’re engaged, spending hours scrolling on Pinterest trying to figure out your “wedding vibe”. Picking out everything from your wedding dress to place cards. We get it, you need inspiration but we in the wedding industry know how unrealistic Pinterest expectations can be. Here are some Do’s and Don’t sof Pinterest Wedding Planning:

  1. DO search for florals but DON'T forget to search for ones that will be in-season:

When meeting floral designers, often they will ask what kind of flowers you do and don’t like – it’s good to go into this meeting prepared! Don’t forget to search for florals that will be in season during your wedding. This will ensure your flowers are in peak season which will also help you budget!

  2. DO search for decor inspiration but DON’T forget to keep your budget in mind:

for instance, if you are getting married under a tent, search to see if you like hanging florals or drapery but don’t forget large items like that can add up! This goes with just about everything for your wedding!

  3. DO get wedding dress inspiration but DON’T get “married” to a dress you saw on pinterest:

You hear it all the time: “The dress I picked was one that I never thought I would like”. A dress on a pinterest model can look completely different on you, good or bad! Try different styles on – you might be surprised!

  4. DO look at Pinterest for inspiration but DON’T limit yourself:

There are so many places to gain inspiration from! Check out wedding blogs, Instagram, and who doesn't love browsing a good wedding magazine while sitting by the pool :)
