We have developed a Blog Series dedicated to helping you plan and answer common questions and concerns.

Postponed Wedding Blog Series: Planning Ahead

  • Book the rest of your vendors – COVID-19 has caused a lot of brides to have to reschedule their weddings, so vendors may now have double the amount of weddings this fall/winter, and next year, and may not be available for your date. Many vendors, especially Photographers are used to doing virtual meetings. There are more tools now than ever to make it easier to meet virtually.

  • Registry – most are online so you can still create them. Make this a fun date night with your significant other by virtually shopping and creating your wish list while binge watching Netflix! You guests will want to shower you and celebrate you so the sooner you create your registry, the sooner they can spoil you with your most wanted gifts. Then, have some fun and be creative adding in wedding details, proposal or how we met stories, photos, wedding party info, etc. Update your site as you get more information to share with your guests.
*Common websites used are Minted, Zola, and The Knot

  • Guest List – a great time to fine-tune the guest list and call/text people to gather all of their information. Include email addresses in the info so that you can contact them electronically if need be

  • Design Save the Dates & Invitations – a great time to support local businesses/artists, or create something on a website like Minted

  • Seating Chart – even though you don’t have your RSVPs in, you can still think about the groups of people that you’ll sit together-There are several ideas and templates on Pinterest

  • Thank You Notes – write/send thank you notes for any showers/parties you’ve had thus far

  • Address Envelopes – practice addressing your envelopes. This could be a great time to pick up a new hobby! There are a lot of calligraphy tutorials online.

  • Accessories – a lot of bridal boutiques are still servicing customers… for instance, Rebecca's Wedding Boutique is encouraging brides to call or email them photos of their dress so that they can help them pick out accessories… veil, hairpieces, belts, etc. Etsy is another great resource.

  • Signage – start thinking about/ordering signage for the wedding. Our rule of thumb for signage is: if the guests have a question of which path/direction to go, you need a sign.

  • Favors - Research ideas unique to you and your significant other and your special day.

  • Wedding Party Gifts/Outfits – a great time to support local businesses and boutiques. Shop personalized unique wedding gifts from local boutiques or Etsy. Virtually Shop for Wedding party colors and styles. Create a Pinterest board of all your favorites if you haven’t already.

  • Wedding Weekend Activities – think about those smaller details… like what will the wedding party eat while they get ready, or how will everyone travel from the getting ready locations to the ceremony location.

  • Rehearsal Dinner – book a venue, decide on the guest list, design invitations, etc.

  • Ceremony music – select songs and send to your musicians

  • Reception Playlist – create a playlist of your favorite songs to send to your DJ/band
