Celebrities are already sporting this trend; we’ve seen the trend spread from casual streetwear to attire at the Golden Globe Awards. Suits are not the only thing oversized this year; you can bet on seeing every type of clothing in some sort of oversized version! Pairing an oversized tee with joggers or baggy slacks are two other popular ways to style this 2023 trend.

Mixing Materials is something you can definitely keep your eye out for this season. As shown in the photo below, pairing a light linen shirt with a chunky knit sweater is a simple way to add depth to an outfit! This combo may not have been something you would have grabbed for in the past but this is sure to be an essential outfit-building duo this year. Materials won’t be the only thing we will see mixing things up this season! Mixing a bold and bright patterned tie with a patterned suit is something that would have been previously seen as a fashion faux pas. I think we can all agree that this trend will be one of our favorites for the annual Kentucky Derby and we can’t wait to see the fun people have with this trend in 2023.

In the spirit of mentioning bold and bright, colors are back baby! Bright colors are something you can bet on seeing on and off the track. We have seen so many bold color suits, like the electric blue suit below. If you feel like the full suit may be too much for every day wear, you could pair a bold colored jacket with monotone neutrals.

Speaking of monochromatic, we will be seeing a lot of that this year. The use of tone on tone to complete a look, along with the mix of materials and textures will keep this trend looking cool.

A popular color to keep your eye out for this year is green! Greens go great with earthy tones like brown, white, or creme, so these can be easy to incorporate into an existing wardrobe. Again, this color is something easy to dress up or down depending on the pieces you’re pairing with. You can dress down a green-based outfit with a loose and flowy shirt, or step it up with an oversized blazer and pant combo!

A very popular color this year will be pink, regardless of the shade. Whether it is a light baby pink or a hot fuchsia, you’ll be seeing more of this online and in stores. You’ll most likely see delicate tones of baby pink on loose and airy button-downs for Derby and summer in general.
